“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” – Romans 12: 2
How does God want us to build confidence in Him? As a Christian professional woman, your tools and weapons for becoming everything He created you to do, are different. They are powerful and they are empowering.
In this blog post I wanted to come alongside you and give you 3 powerful mindset switches, that the Lord has given us, that I know will help you. My hope is that they will build confidence as well as a new level of strength in us, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Ultimately, my hope is that we start thriving in our identity, relationship with Christ, work and in every other area of our lives.
I am truly praying that at least one of these 3 mindset shifts really resonates and touches you, where you are in your life.
With that, here we go!

If you speak to my friends and family, they know that this is one my favorite scriptures.
It is a scripture that paints faith in the most radical and craziest ways!
And I love it!
It gives us radical and practical permission to believe in the impossible,
with God’s presence and help, in our lives.
It is a scripture that is literally telling us that when you partner with hope, you are giving it substance, you are making it real.
You are saying:
“Because I see it my mind’s eye and I believe it, that gives me all the evidence I need,
to believe…despite all the physical circumstances.”

That’s what faith is.
Believing without the physical evidence and seeing it come to pass.
Isn’t that amazing?!
Walking in faith like this builds your confidence.
It challenges and encourages me, all at the same time:)!
By the way, this is not about waiting for emotions
to corroborate it or affirm what we believe.
Faith is you saying:
“I’m standing on what I’m seeing in my mind’s eye, according to what God has said,
until I see it come to physical pass. Feelings you can follow… but I believe.”

I have been finding this scripture so helpful when I’m praying and believing for things that the Lord has told me are mine, in Him, but things around me are saying otherwise.
I am learning not to be affected by what I’m currently seeing or experiencing but vigilantly focusing on what I know is the Truth (making that the reality) and setting my mind and heart on that…steadfastly.
What I’m seeing in my mind’s eye has to become more real to me than what I’m seeing in the physical.
I know! Crazy right?!
It’s not easy but it is necessary if we are to grow and step into the bigger calling God has for us.
WHAT BUILDING CONFIDENCE LOOKS LIKE FOR YOU:
It might look like: you now know who you are in Christ. He has shown you.
Perhaps He has clearly shown you, you are a leader but you don’t feel like a leader.
That’s good!
Your feelings do not get to dictate the Truth.
What He has said does!
Embrace the fact that you don’t feel like a leader
AND be the leader anyway!
WITHOUT HESITATION!
WHOLEHEARTEDLY!
You will find that your feelings will follow
your belief, and not, the other way round.
Your feelings are subject to what you choose to believe!
It is actually a really empowering way to live, don’t you think?!
And Lord has given it to us.
Strengthening our resolve will also build confidence in us as women of God.
So why not try it out this week, in something you know God has been encouraging you about?
Step out each day this week, believing only, (without waiting for feelings) and watch how your mind, heart AND circumstance, begin to transform, right before your eyes:)!

Build Confidence By Celebrating Others And Yourself
This statement is something I instinctually learned to use since I was teenager but I believe it was a mindset that I think the Holy Spirit deposited in me, without me realizing it🙂!
This statement, is one of the best ways to slam the door shut, in the face of comparison…in other words…
envying others.
I cannot tell you how many times, when I see someone doing their work so brilliantly or growing a beautiful garden or whatever it is, and that if a little voice of…
“Oh they’re so talented. Why can’t you do it like that?” tries to speak to me,
I literally say “Good for them!”.
I genuinely mean it when I say it and I say it with a strong voice.
And it changes everything!
What you are saying, in that moment, is…
“Good for them for the gifts they’ve been given!
I’m not them!
I am me and that’s good!
I am moving on…to my own gifts that I have been given!”
It silences that voice immediately.

How it kills comparison & builds confidence.
When we are fixated on other’s people’s talents or accomplishments, we suddenly feel small.
There is a belief in us, that takes over, that’s saying…
“There’s only so much talent and accomplishment to go around. This person has it all and I have none.”
That is far from the truth.
That scarcity mentality is the work of the enemy trying to make you believe,
you are not enough
and
there isn’t enough for you.
The truth is…
God in His wonderful grace has given us ALL talents and gifts that He wants us to use and exploit to their full potential.
It’s all in His grace.
But we blind ourselves from seeing the greatness He put in us when we become so fixated on somebody else’s greatness.

However, the moment you say…
“Good for them!”,
you literally stop that mental train, dead in its tracks of comparing yourself, belittling yourself
and denigrating yourself and; your mind refocuses on the magic God put inside of YOU!
The moment you start focusing on what you DO have in Christ, you build your confidence.
It’s amazing how well it works!
Try it the next time you find yourself comparing yourself to somebody else.
When you do, you’ll start seeing:
- new creative ways of doing things
- gifts you hadn’t noticed in yourself
- your own distinctive style emerging
Your own style of executing things, leading and speaking that is unique and so beautiful that
you’ll be excited to BE who you are and share your gifts with the world.

The full scripture says:
“You are of God, little children and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”
This scripture is referring to discerning of spirits and having faith that the Holy Spirit, who is in you, is greater than any false spirits.
I find that so comforting, not just in terms of discerning false spirits but in every area of life, including building my confidence.
It means…we are not alone!
I am not alone, in this world.
I have the Holy Spirit in me and He is greater than anything in the world.
The same Holy Spirit power that raised Jesus from the dead, lives inside of me.
WHAAAAAAAAAT?! – Romans 8:11

Isn’t that amazing!
I asked The Holy Spirit why He wanted me to share this particular scripture and He said because He wants us to know that…
He is very near.
He loves us.
We are not alone.
We are mighty in Christ.
We are His Beloved.
He wants us to interact with Him every day, understanding how great and powerful He is in us.
He is encouraging us to take the posture of ones who are truly powerful in Him and not feel like orphans.
We are not posturing ourselves in arrogance but posturing ourselves as His beloved ones.
This posture builds confidence, creates intimacy with Him and it glorifies Him.
Truly taking ownership of that…because it pleases Him.
Knowing that we are not aimless, weak or abandoned.
We are walking in love with Him.
We have the privilege of walking in intimacy & friendship with Him.
We are walking, LITERALLY…
- in His power,
- in His wisdom,
- in His love,
- in His strength,
- His joy,
- His grace,
- His favor
- and His provision.
How amazing is that?!
Think about it…
What if when…
You are working in your office, constructing that important email, you’re doing it, believing that the presence of His wisdom is right there with you?
Tell Him:
“Holy Spirit I’m partnering with Your Wisdom right now. Thank you for giving me Your words.”
What if when…
You are speaking, and you feel a little nervous, you trust in His power in that very moment and; speak in His power?
Tell Him:
“Holy Spirit I’m partnering with Your Power right now. Thank you for giving me Your boldness.”
What if when…
You feel invisible at work, you lean into the truth that you have His ultimate favor and walk in that?
Tell Him:
“Holy Spirit I’m partnering with Your Favor right now. Thank you that I am completely cherished by you.”
He loves us and wants us to live, every moment, knowing that, tangibly in our lives.
By the way, if the idea of walking with the Holy Spirit is somewhat new to you, please don’t be stressed about it.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then His spirit is in you. Interact with Him, the same way you interact with Jesus.

Moving forward, I hope you feel mentally, emotionally & spiritually stronger.
Armed with new ways to believe for the impossible, stop comparison and walking intentionally and; intimately with the Holy Spirit, who loves us.
Here’s Your Glorious Reminder Darling Friend…
- You are not alone.
- You are not talentless.
- You are not powerless.
In fact, in Christ:
- You are powerful.
- You have limitless potential.
- You are beloved.
I’m hearing a happy song playing in my head as I write this:)!
Perhaps let’s all take a moment of thanks…for who we are and what we have in Christ Jesus!
Hallelujah!
I’m Cheering For You Darling Friend…Always!
